Beginner's Party

These are two pictures given to me from one of my students. I funny thing to note is that one of my students and me have the same type of sweater on.
And then there's me looking a bit cheesy. Hehe!

Final Korean Class!

Ever since I've moved to Seoul, I've searched for a Korean class near my apartment. Luckily, the Korean Culture Center is near my house and the Korean classes are free. I registered with my co-worker, Eric, and I was put into the Intermediate level 4 class. I was very excited. I couldn't attend the first few classes because of my schedule at work but I went to the last couple of ones. These are pictures of the last class.

Starting from the back left, a lady from Hong Kong, an American, a lady from Thailand, Me, and a German lady. Front left, my Korean teacher (Very cute) and a nice girl from Taiwan. The Frenchman wasn't in class today so I didn't get a picture of him.

Same as the first one, except the lady from Thailand is in front of the other Korean teacher.

Final Winter English classes!!!

The Winter program has finished and I'm a little sad about it but I'm more excited about my trip to California. Here are some pictures of the last class.

Two girls from my Intermediate class, Min Kyeong and Lilla.

Here's a picture of Lilla and me. She was a very nice student and we shared a cup of coffee one time.

These are my intermediate students, Min Kyeong and June.

These are my Beginner students acting silly. Hehe!

Here they are trying to be serious!

Finally, A time for a break!!!!

El Lobo he regresado!!!!

I've been trying to find more activities to do in Seoul. I always enjoy what I have done so far but I want to branch out some more and meet more people. So, I came across an ad for an international party and I decided to investigate. They had a party the following Saturday so I went with Ricardo to check it out.

When I first got there, I ran into someone I knew already and he introduced me to two girls. So, I chatted with them for a while. Very friendly!

Here is the picture I took. Ricardo took the last one. I can't complain about the quality. It was dark so I was forced to use flash. I'm not a big fan of flash.

Here's a really cute Chinese girl I met early during the TV show. Very nice and spunky!

This is was another girl I met. She was originally talking to Ricardo but as he puts it, "I snaked my way in" and stole her away! Hehe!

Salmon Dinner!

I finally was able to find the Costco here in Korea and I went crazy!!! Not really, everyone who knows me knows that I am quite cheap! Hehe! Never the less, I decided to buy a box of already seasoned Salmon so the only thing I would need to do is to cook them! I was excited!

So here's the box of Salmon. I was really tired after the trip so the picture is blurry.

And the final product, a salad with Italian dressing, white rice, and to over cooked Salmon fillets. Haha! Nobody said that I was a great cook!

One more shot of the food. The thing that I have to remember is that two fillets are one too many!!! I was so full after the meal and couldn't walk!

Snow Part 2

Here are some of the pictures that I took with the secretaries and one of my students.

Su Yeong, Hyeon So and me taking a picture with a lot of snow.

Here's me lost in the trees.

Here I am with my student and I'm missing my hat.

Here's Hyeon So and me with a snow man!

Here's again my student, Su Yeong and the other secretary Gil Yeong.

One more shot of the lamp.

Lastly, a picture of the trees. Apparently, these types of trees are used in many poems.

First Snow! First Blog!

Well it's 2008 and I've decided to start doing my blog again! I hope to post at least once a week. So, let's start 2008 with a bunch of snow! The snow fell heavily last Friday so I took my camera and went to the campus to take some pictures. I have been wanting to take pictures of the campus so this was a great chance.

Here's me enjoying the snow with a big smile.

I really like how the lamp looks hanging on the tree.

Here's a lamp post that is spotless. Hehe!

A nice snow bush!

I forgot the name of these pots. They were used to store Kim chi and other foods but this one had mostly garbage. What a shame!

This is a nice shot of the pine tree and the stairs.

The stairs to up to no where.

This is the view from my apartment.

Another shot from my apartment with flash so you can see the snow.

First day teaching!

Well I was getting ready for my first day of teaching but I couldn't get a good picture of myself. The camera isn't very friendly when you are not behind it! Hehe! I couldn't get it to focus properly.

Here's me in my least blurry attempt! I look like a wise guy!

Here's me really blurry! I look older in this one than the other. Goes to show that the flash isn't always very friendly!

Ah yes, my first meal. It was delicious. It's tuna steaks with rice! I cooked the rice with different kinds of grains! It's really tasty and healthier than white rice! Everyone is surprised that I actually took up cooking!

My new apartment!!!!!

Well the university moved me from Suwon to Seoul and I couldn't be happier! The apartment they gave me is huge!!!! I couldn't believe the size of it! There are 3 rooms. Two small rooms and one big room. There's also a living room and a kitchen! It's amazing! All of this and it's in the middle of Seoul!

Here's the view from my bedroom window! The university is only a 10 minute walk away from here! If you can see the grey dome building. The University is right behind it.

Here's another view from a different angle. The train tracks are there. I want to take pictures at night so everyone can see it at night!

Here's my living room! You can see that the Garfield that Alex gave me is sitting comfortably!

Here's the kitchen! It's a mess because I've been actually cooking. Amazing!!!

And here's the bathroom! I'm still amazed with the bathtub. I haven't had one in 2 years!

Here's the spare room! Most of my friends will probably crash here when they are in Seoul for the weekend. I'm also going to use this as my study when I get the Internet on.

And here's my bedroom! Nice and big. I don't have to many things in here but I don't want to spend any money. We'll see how it looks later on!

Thinking about starting up again...

2005-2006: Ansan is where my heart is. I really have a deep appreciation for that place. The people, the food, and especially most of my close friends live out there. So, I will continue to visit as often as I can.
2006-2007: Suwon is where I'm starting up my career. I'm am really enjoying the opportunity of teaching at Kyonngi University. It's helping me grow in my career and, thanks to the Korean class, I have learned quite a deal of Korean. I have also learned a great deal about photography.
2007-Present: Seoul is going to be a new and unique experience for me. I am really excited about the move. I will start an entire new blog for my experiences here. I hope everyone will check it out. Coming Soon.
